Religious Tours
The Himalayas have been worshipped as the abode of the Gods from time
immemorial. Hinduism and Buddhism (as well as the ancient religion
of Bon or Bon-Po) revere the Mount Kailash and the Mansarovar Lake
region as the holiest of places. It is no big wonder that numerous
ancient Shrines lie in the serenity of these lofty heights. Many of
the temples and shrines can be reached by road without any real exertion,
while some of the pilgrimages are akin to adventure.
In the mountains of Uttar Pradesh (Garhwal & Kumaon) where lofty
peaks rise to eternal splendor, are the holy shrines of Yamunotri,
Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. For centuries, saints and pilgrims
have walked these mystical valleys known in ancient Hindu scriptures
as Kedarkhand. According to the scripts of Skanda Purana this is the
place where Lord Shiva wove the threads of life on Earth.

Char Dham Yatra

sacred spots" comprising of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath
and Badrinath) yatra is the most sacred of all the pilgrimages
and undertaking this pilgrimage is said to not just wash away
one's sins but ensure release from the cycle of birth and death.

Amarnath Yatra with
Helicopter
Amarnath is 145 km east of Srinagar in Kashmir. There is an
ice Silva-linga here that changes size with the seasons, and
also as the moon waxes and wanes it becomes bigger and smaller.
On the full moon day the linga is about 6 ft high. Each year
on the full moon day of July-August (Sravana) when the Siva-linga
attains its maximum height there is a festival at this cave
temple. It is said that Lord Siva first appeared on this day.
