Trek Highlights
 Darjeeling
became a hill station of prominence during the days of the British
and still has numerous buildings and Hotels from the pre independence
era. This safari begins and finishes at Darjeeling, visiting the Himalayan
kingdom of Sikkim in between. The views of the Eastern Himalayas on
this route are incomparable.

Day by day Itinerary
DAY 01 : DELHI-BAGDOGRA-KALIMPONG
Board a morning flight from Delhi to Bagdogra. Drive from Bagdogra
to Kalimpong. Check into Hotel Himalaya View or similar.
DAY 02 : KALIMPONG
Breakfast in hotel. Full day city sightseeing tour of Kalimpong.
Lunch, dinner and overnight in hotel.
DAY 03: KALIMPONG-GANGTOK
After breakfast half day city sightseeing tour of Kalimpong
monastery and market. Lunch at hotel. Afternoon drive to Gangtok
en-route visiting the Rumtek monastery where one can find some of
the most unique art objects of the world. Check into Hotel Norkhill,
Gangtok or similar for dinner and overnight.
DAY 04: GANGTOK
Breakfast in hotel. Full day city sightseeing tour of Gangtok.
Visit Do-Drul Chorten, one of the most important ‘stupas’
of Sikkim, Saramsa Garden, the home of Sikkim’s many exotic
orchids and other rare tropical plants, Ganesh Tok and the Phodong
Monastery which is amongst the six major monasteries of Sikkim.
Lunch en-route.
DAY 05 : GANGTOK-MARTAM
Breakfast in hotel. Morning sightseeing tour of Gangtok. Visit
Tashi View Point, Enchey monastery, Directorate of Handicrafts and
Handloom and Research Institute of Tibetology. After lunch drive
to Martam. Check into Martam Village Resort for dinner and overnight.
DAY 06 : MARTAM-PEMAYANGTSE
After breakfast drive to Pemayangtse. The drive from Martam
to Pemayangtse is 141kms 05-06 hours journey. After 03 hours you
come to the tea plantations of Temi Takru. The sprawling hills with
the tea bushes are a pleasant sight to see. Visit the tea factory
if time permits. Picnic lunch at the gardens. Thereafter continue
your drive to Pemayangtse. Check into Hotel Mount Pandim. Dinner
and overnight in hotel.
DAY 07: PEMAYANGTSE-DARJEELING
The morning view of the mountain peaks from Mt. Pandim hotel
is breathtaking. The prominent peaks visible are Rathong, Kabru
Dome, Talung, Kangchendzonga and Pandim. Breakfast in hotel. After
breakfast view the Pemayangtse monastery. This 2000mts-height monastery
of the Nyingmapa sect is a magnificent wonder of the 17th century.
After lunch drive to Darjeeling and check into hotel New Elgin for
dinner and overnight.
DAY 08: DARJEELING
Breakfast in hotel. Morning sightseeing of Tibetan SOS Village,
Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and the zoo. Lunch at hotel.
Evening visit the tea factory, Ghoom Monastery and take a toy train
ride to Darjeeling if time permits. Return to hotel for dinner and
overnight.
DAY 09: DARJEELING
Early morning sightseeing of Tiger Hill. Witness the famous
sunrise from the hill. Return to the hotel. Rest of the day free
for shopping and exploring the city. Lunch, dinner and overnight
at the hotel.
DAY 10 : DARJEELING-BAGDOGRA-DELHI
Drive to Bagdogra to board the connecting flight 9W 602 to Delhi.
Departure Bagdogra - 1430 hours. Arrival Delhi - 1630 hours.
