East Himalaya, Nepal and Bhutan Trek
 |
Bhutan Chomolahri
Base Camp
Bhutan often amazes visitors from industrialized countries.
This small kingdom, hidden in the Eastern Himalaya, is so traditional,
so ancient and so completely culturally intact that it can seem
almost unreal.
Its pastoral valleys are still dominated by 16th century monasteries
where red-robed lamas preside over the events of everyday life.
In high mountain valleys, the main occupation is still yak herding.
Few roads penetrate the country. |

This small kingdom, hidden in the Eastern Himalaya, is so traditional,
so ancient and so completely culturally intact that it can seem
almost unreal. Its pastoral valleys are still dominated by 16th
century monasteries where red-robed lamas preside over the events
of everyday life. In high mountain valleys, the main occupation
is still yak herding. Few roads penetrate the country. The Bhutanese
Government strictly restricts tourism to preserve the traditional
ways, and to travel through this kingdom is a privilege and
a chance to the peaceful way of life.

The Singalila
Ridge Top Walk
The trek on the Singalila Ridge is widely acclaimed as one of
the classic walks of the Himalayan foothills, giving panoramic
views of the worlds third highest mountain, Kanchenjunga
28168 ft /8586 m, her satellites, and on a clear day, Everest
herself. The walk essentially follows a well-defined ridge that
is more elevated than the other foothills that lie between it
and the main Himalayan range. Sunrises and sunsets are particularly
spectacular.

Sikkim Kanchenjunga Base Camp
The sky high peaks of the Kanchenjunga massif will fill you
with awe and inspiration. This area is also famous for its exotic
and rare flora and fauna. According to the famous British Explorer
Freshfield, who visited this area in the late 19th century,
this is heaven for botanists the world over. This trek also
provides an opportunity to see some of the most inaccessible
monasteries of the world which lies in the shadow of the mighty
Kanchenjunga. The original inhabitants of Sikkim were Lepchas,
then came Bhotias from Tibet, who were followed by the Nepalese
