The Nanda Devi
Inner Sanctuary
The Nanda Devi Sanctuary in the Garhwal Himalayas of India is
a unique geographical feature. A concentration of peaks connected
by massive walls which dip no lower than 17,000ft/5200m form
an enormous amphitheater of 250 square miles of land all over
13,000ft/4000m. The only exception is the point where the Rishi
Ganga which drains this great basin emerges to the West in one
of the most terrific gorges in the world. In this ring of mountains
are at least twelve peaks over 21,500ft/6500m including several
famous names such as Changabang and Dunagiri to the North, and
Trisuli, Nanda Kot to the West and South.

Grand Trek of
Central Himalayas
The Garhwal region contains some of the finest mountains in
the Himalayas and is highly accessible. This spectacular trek
takes you deep into the Central Himalaya. It is a "Sadhu"
Trail which the devotees use to cross over from Gangotri to
Kedarnath. This is one of the very few Sadhu trails left in
the Himalaya. Dramatic canyons, majestic mountains, cascading
waterfalls, pine and birch trees, together with the holy waters
of India's most sacred river make the Source of the Ganges trek
a feast for the soul and senses. The views of Mount Shivling
and the Bhagirathi range in the Garhwal Himalaya are unforgettable.

Kalindi Khal Trek
This is for the most adventurous trekkers who have a fundamental
knowledge of the mountains and trekking. The trek is over the
Kalindi Khal (pass) at the awesome altitude of 5947 mts. This
trail connects the two holy shrines of Gangotri and Badrinath
and passes through the remotest parts of the Garhwal Himalayas.

Pindari Glacier Trek
The trek begins from Bageshwar which is an important Hindu pilgrimage
center. The Pindari Glacier is about 3 kilometers long and is
fed by the South-Western slope of the Outer wall of the Nanda
Devi Sanctuary. |

Shipton Tillman Trek
The trek over the Kauri Pass was the route followed by Shipton
and Tilman on their way to the Rishi Gorge and by other mountaineers
en route to the peaks on the Indo-Tibetan border. It is also
called the Curzon Trail, as the famous former Viceroy of India
traveled this route. The trail was named after Lord Curzon,
who was a keen trekker, and it is said that the path was specially
improved so that he could do the trek. The crossing of the pass
is a fitting conclusion to a trek that takes in three lesser
passes and five major rivers - the Pindar, Kaliganga, Nandakini,
Briehiganga and the Dhauliganga.
